Magnum aircraft recovery systems are state of the art, latest technology design. The systems are engineered and tested by highly educated and trained professionals, and have been widely used and respected in Europe for over 16 years, sold under the Junkers-ProFly brand name.

In 1990 Junkers of Germany and Mr. Josef Straka of Czech Republic formed a partnership in the development of a superior all plane recovery system. Czech ballistic experts offered the know how with their extensive history of military design for the Soviets during the Cold War.  The Junkers name provided the assurance to the German and European customers.  This partnership was and still remains a win win situation for both entities.  In 1996 the partnership reorganized when Junkers ownership changed hands and the parachutes continued to be sold under the name Junkers Profly of Germany.  Currently, Stratos 07 s.r.o. continues to manufacture and supply the Magnum Ballistic Parachute line.

Entering the US Market:

Launch of the product in the United States was delayed for over a decade by extremely high market demand in Europe.  In 2006 Bostik Industries s.r.o. was formed and assumed the responsibility of the manufacture and export of Magnum Ballistic Parachutes into the United States, Canada, Australia and South America.

Development:

Magnum Ballistic Parachutes have saved many lives over the years and will continue to do so for a long time to come.  Bostik Industries s.r.o., in cooperation with Stratos 07 s.r.o., continues the development of high performance systems for aircraft with weights up to and exceeding 4000 lbs and speeds of over 200 mph.  Continual testing and development efforts are of the highest priority, and are ongoing.

(1)  Normal parachute inspection and repack cost is only $500, and includes rocket inspection and return to service at no additional cost.  Rocket service life is indefinite, and only requires replacement when inspection warrants.  Repacking charges for deployed parachutes are based on condition of chute, lines, housing, etc., and determined on an individual basis.
(2)  Larger units, for aircraft weights of 1,363 to 3,970 lbs are also available.  Call or email for your specific needs.

MBP canopies are made of the latest First Quality materials by highly trained employees in the Czech Republic.  Magnum Ballistic Parachutes strive for safety, quality and comfortable descent rates (check MBP descent rates against other manufacturers).

MBP rockets are the best in the industry, designed to military fighter jet ejection seat standards. We use the proven propellant, nitroglycerin powder charge, called Lovex. It is made specifically for MBP by a leading explosives manufacturer, Explosia s.r.o.  This material is environmentally friendly and very stable over time.
The thrust of MBP rockets is adequate under all conditions and is powerful enough to fully extend the parachute and take the sleeve off to prepare the canopy for an opening.

The activation mechanism is made of aircraft quality cable with housing of Teflon and metal flex Bowden. The activation handle has a dual safety locking mechanism to offer an extra deterrence against an accidental activation, and a lock for transport and storage.
The mechanism is designed to offer a very low resistance to deployment forces under all mounting conditions and remains so over the lifetime of the system.
MBP pays particular attention to the environmental effects of their systems.
Parts and containers are made of stainless steel and aluminum alloys.
